With its distinctive square bottle, its label angled precisely at 24° and the iconic Striding Man, Johnnie Walker is the world’s best selling Scotch whisky retailing more than 20 million cases a year. It was first created in Kilmarnock in 1865 and is now available in almost every country in the world with the establishment of significant ‘Houses’ across Asia. Between 1906 & 1909 John Walker’s grandsons introduced the colour names which the bottles still bear to this day with the Blue Label – introduced in 1992 – being the rarest.
A beautifully designed bottle produced in collaboration with Glasgow design studio, Timorous Beasties (not to be confused with Douglas Laing’s series on Highland blends of a similar name). The bottle is etched and embossed with patterns representing the wildfire of Scotland from the Aurora Borealis to the rare bee hawk-moth.
